Our Story
Where we met…
Back in May 2016, on a lazy Sunday afternoon, Amy was browsing through a dating website. She happened across the profile of a tall,dark handsome Galway man she hadn’t seen before. She noticed they had the same favourite film and sent him a message, a quote from that very movie: “Did we just become best friends?!” and so they did…
The first date…
Just over a week later, Amy wandered along Salthill Prom (fashionably late, of course) to meet Rob and in that instant, it was love at first sight. After a drink and a few games of pool in the Oslo, they sat on a bench and Rob asked her how the date had gone and if she’d like to see him again. The rest as they say, is history.
What happened next…
Four weeks later, they said “I love you”. Amy moved to Dublin, Rob moved to Tipperary. With every few months, another move. Two years passed before their lives finally aligned and they moved in together. They travelled the world, found a love of music together, going to gigs, shows and having a whole lot of fun along the way. 
The proposal..
On a cold January morning, Rob told Amy he would take her on a date. They wandered up Salthill Prom and into the Oslo for a drink and a few games of pool. Wandering back in to town, they stopped to sit on a familiar bench. Rob asked Amy how the date had gone, proceeding to get down on one knee and pull a ring out of his pocket. Through many tears and squeals, she of course, said, “yes!”
The wedding..
On 27th August 2020, in the height of Covid, Rob and Amy finally said ‘I do’. Knowing they couldn’t have the wedding they’d spent 18 months planning, but wanting to be married, they had an intimate but beautiful ceremony in Tierneevin Church, vowing to celebrate with loved ones once things settled down.
What came next…
First came a new home in Oranmore. The house still felt a little empty… and so their beloved Frenchie, Stitch arrived two weeks later! Stitch was getting lonely and needed a friend. Their first bundle of joy, Delia Marie, arrived in November 2021. Amy, Rob, Delia and Stitch welcomed another new addition in April 2023, Meabh Eibhlin, who will be sharing her Christening day with our wedding celebrations!
